As C2-classified drones are currently not extensively available on the market the German Federal Aviation Office (LBA) has extended the exemption for commercial operation in the open category, subcategory A2 until December 2023. This allows operators of legacy drones, which are not used for sports and recreational purposes, to reduce the minimum horizontal distance to uninvolved persons.
